The power supply for Audio-GD’s HE-2 MK3 is based on a set of 4 transformers per unit, 3 of which are regenerative, making a total of 8 transformers for a total of 2,000W and an electrical capacity of 260,000uF. The main advantage of the regenerative transformers is their ability to “self-power”. In fact, this type of power supply has the ability to act as both a source and a load of current. In this way, these transformers can use excess energy not used by the system to feed it back into the system, thereby limiting the device’s actual power consumption. Furthermore, the power supply stage of the HE-2 MK3 has a very high input impedance to avoid mains disturbance, and a fast, low impedance, high linearity output, making it a high quality power supply.
The amplification stage of Audio-GD’s HE-2 MK3 uses 40 ON Semiconductor transistors per unit for an output power per channel of 30 W in pure class A and 500 W at 4 Ω. Furthermore, signal gain is managed in current rather than voltage, resulting in unrivalled precision and ultra-low distortion. It’s also worth noting that you can choose between +20dB and +26dB of gain to best adapt the signal to your speakers.
Audio-GD has its own signature technology, called ACSS for “Audio-GD Current System Signal”. Thanks to the firm’s expertise and know-how, this technology offers a sound that is less coloured, more detailed and of unrivalled neutrality. Each of the firm’s technical engineers is not only highly experienced, but is also a HiFi and audio enthusiast like you and us.
HE-2 MK3 dual mono amplifier incorporates Linear Fidelity technology in the output circuits and Non Negative Feedback in the amplifier as a whole. This special design produces a linear response curve and a very low level of distortion, for extremely transparent sound reproduction, whatever the output level and frequency reproduced.
