Master 3A is a pure Class A power amplifier. Designed without any compromises using the best components and fully discrete. Like all products of Audio-GD the amplifier is entirely made by hand and suggest that it is a much more expensive device. The analogue amplifier stages of this amplifier are non-feedback and DC coupled without any opamps, all discrete. The power supplies of this amplifier are fed by 4 transformers, 2 heavy toroidal per channel and 2 R-Core transformers.

Pure Class A
A class A amplifier has the particularity of having all its active components always in conduction. They fully amplify the input signal, thus limiting the harmonic distortion on the output signal. The output signal of the Master-3A is therefore of excellent quality, due to the absence of this famous sinusoidal crossing distortion.
The Master 3A is a 50W pure class A power amp, therefore it’s temperature can reach 50°C. Strongly advised to place in open space with sufficient ventilation.
The Master 3A has 90W at 8 ohms, even with 90W full power output the THD+N is only 0.18% at 1KHz and 0.004% at 20KHz
“Linear Fidelity” Technology (Patent Pending)
The Master 3 output stages are using spectacular technology developed by Audio-GD in-house and is referred as “Linear Fidelity”. (patent pending) The output stages have zero negative feedback, which normally means increased and unwanted distortion.
Most power amp designs show increased distortion when the output level increases. The full frequency band’s distortion level increases even more, specially the low and high frequencies. The special Audio-GD “Linear Fidelity” technology can keep the distortion low and steady at all levels. This results in ultra linear performance.
The ultra low distortion of this non-negative feedback amplifier is achieved by its ultra linear behavior of the amplifier. This results in a very transparent and analogue sound stage.

POWER
Massive use of high power parts and robust power supply guarantee vigorous current output that drives most complex loudspeakers. Master-10 applies four channels of diamond non-feedback output stages composed of 24 pieces of ON Semiconductor transistors . The capacitance of the whole machine is over 140,000uF. Two enormous transformers are used with total power of 1500W as well as 2 R-Core transformers to power the pre-stages section

I bought the Master 3A with a R7HE, specifically to have a 100% ‘current conveyor’ (ACSS) topology. IMHO this combo is the shortcut to a true audiophile/high-end setup with a very manageable price-tag. Music comes across in a very vital, engaging way … there’s a certain natural transparency and directness that could almost be compared to some of the better tube amps (without the harmonic bloom though). Do not believe what you read on ASR and other ‘measurement obsessed’ sites, Audio-GD have very well figured out what audiophile enjoyment means, some very dedicated engineering at work here.

I own the HE-1 MK2 pre amplifier and the Master 3A power amplifier and I can assure anyone this combi is hard to beat.
I did hear a lot of amplifiers like Hegel, Classe, Accuphase etc. but non of them can beat Audio-GD.
I use them in combination with a HiFi Rose RS150 streamer and Dali Epicon 6 speakers

Would be great if some hifi magazine would dare to test this brand compared to other well known high end brands.

After testing Pathos, Classe, Jef Rowland, etc I must say that Audio GD 3A is astonishing for the price, any price actually. Tigh, extend and full bass, very transparent midrange (enfase to voices , cords, piano and blow instruments) and suficientlly airy and resolving top end (a bit harsh at first but after a few days of burn in it]s all gone). Layering and insttruments separation is very good. Soundstage is 3D, texture and expansive, but coherent.
Very low distortion at high volumes and full boby in low ones.
My sistem is base on Michi P5 and S5 pre and power amplifier, respectly. Rigth now I subjectively perfer the carater of the Audio GD 3A Power Amp. What a dilema! This tell a lot!
