Mijn oude DAC was defect en dus had ik snel een nieuwe nodig. Het concept van de Singxer SDA-6 PRO2 leek mij interessant. Ik had eerder een Dac met een ESS-chip. Ik luister vooral naar klassieke muziek via de satelliet. De ontvanger ontvangt een AAC-signaal en levert PCM 48kh. Omdat er geen audiofiele satellietontvangers bestaan, wordt het digitale signaal via de DI-20 van Audio-GD opnieuw geklokt en ontkoppeld aan de DAC geleverd. Voorheen via BNC. Toen ik de Singxer SDA-6 PRO2 zo aansloot, werd het signaal ernstig verstoord. Er waren geen problemen met Tos-Link. Dezelfde storing via AES werd gehoord. Ook andere apparaten kon ik zonder problemen aansluiten. Er lijkt een synchronisatieprobleem te zijn met de DI-20. Nadat ik verbinding had gemaakt via de I2S-kabel, was alles erg goed. Zelfs de fouten met AES en BNC verdwenen zodra de twee apparaten via I2S werden gesynchroniseerd. Nu luister ik via I2S en ben enthousiast over de Singxer SDA-6 PRO2 met de DI-20. Vooral via een koptelefoon lijkt de muziek natuurlijker en ontspannender dan voorheen. Ik ga dus niet meer terug naar mijn oude toestel.

Holo Audio Cyan 2 R2R NOS DAC : MEILLEURE Hi-Fi de 2024... View

Twee weken terug aandachtig met Rob bij MagnaHifi geluisterd naar de Holo Cyan2 DAC in combinatie met met eigen Ifi Neostreamer en later met de nieuwste Mano Ultra MK3.5 streamer. Wat een fantastische en extreem goede DAC is de Cyan2 voor het geld.! Op de Ifi Neostreamer ging het direct al heel fraai en na gewisseld te hebben naar de nieuwe Mano-Ultra MK3.5 was het wederom een grote stap voorwaarts, whauw🎼 . De keuze voor de Holo Audio Cyan 2 DAC was dan ook snel gemaakt en werd keurig binnen 3 dagen goedverpakt thuis bezorgt.
Thuis aangesloten op mijn Ifi Neostreamer via Een Wireworld Silverspere I2s kabel de Holo Cyan2 in, klonk het al direct heel erg goed in de set.
Nu twee weken verder en na de upgrade naar een veel betere audio- fuse werd het alleen nog maar beter.
Erg fraai gedetailleerd, ruimtelijk, helder en open van sound maar never never enige hardheid in het geluid te bespeuren en met tevens een prachtig vol en strak in balans zijnde laagweergave is het volop genieten.
Nu nog maar even doorsparen voor de Mano Ultra MK 3.5 want die combinatie zal het moeten gaan worden op de Holo Audio Cyan 2.

I am really impressed by the sound quality, with my Hifiman HE1000 stealth it is incredible to hear each single instrument separated, placed in its black sphere and each sphere placed in the lateral space and in depth.
It is a truly holographic representation and the leap compared to my Hifiman Serenade is evident, in the next few days I will try it with all my other headphones.

I have been using the Spring3 KTE with the built-in preamp for some times now. It is simply amazing.
I am so impressed by all parameters included in the term "Sound Quality", such as instrument and voice realism, precision in the soundscape (2D/3D), flow, tonality, micro/macro details, balance, dynamics and so on….
Its ability to adapt to different types/styles of music is one of the main factors making it stand out in comparison with other DAC's I've recently tested. Spring3 KTE is definitely a keeper!

Do not want to be too talkative with mailing often but cannot hold myself: 'Supreme dac':
- very detailed but not intrusive;
- supreme timber and naturalism;
- enormous soundstage - height, width, depth;

Fantastic. I bought the Red to replace an old Logitech Squeezebox Touch, which I was using just as a streamer. I didn't expect the huge jump in audio quality I heard - after all bits are bits aren't they?. I have since bought a Holo Cyan DAC, and am feeding it from the Red, and the Cyan feeds my Cambridge Edge A Amplifier. Imaging and detail are so much better than before.

Went to a private listening session of around two hours. Great hospitality and conversation . Compared their Magna Mano music streamer with the Holo Audio Red. I hadn’t expected that much difference. I was wrong. Coming home I ordered the Magna Mano. Including the build, Gentoo Player configuration and shipping to me, I had it up and running in 4 days. My wife said after a few days: it sounds so natural. I leave it at that!

Excellent price / quality ratio for Audio-GD products. I didn't expect much, but when I turned on the Audio-GD R2R R1 DAC, I realized that this sound was significantly different from what I had heard from ~10 of my previous DACs, including the R2R. Space, stage, details - everything is here, nothing is smeared out of focus or exaggerated. Surprisingly good sound from Audio-GD, a brand I was not familiar with until now!

Excellent value for the money. Unfortunately, the market for these types of cables is still very small. In the future, I will make the upgrade to the pink faun. For now, is this the best in my opinion.

I was already familiar with the MK3, but the new versions of software run a bit more difficult these days. The MK3.5 is very powerful, the software runs like a charm. Tried different options, even Gentoo can handle everything. The sound is certainly as good, I even think it is a bit better. The upgrade mk3 to mk3.5 went very smoothly, I had the device back quickly. Thanks Rob and Jos!

I bought the Master 3A with a R7HE, specifically to have a 100% 'current conveyor' (ACSS) topology. IMHO this combo is the shortcut to a true audiophile/high-end setup with a very manageable price-tag. Music comes across in a very vital, engaging way ... there's a certain natural transparency and directness that could almost be compared to some of the better tube amps (without the harmonic bloom though). Do not believe what you read on ASR and other 'measurement obsessed' sites, Audio-GD have very well figured out what audiophile enjoyment means, some very dedicated engineering at work here.

I already had previously purchased (elsewhere) an Audio GD DAC (R7HE Mk3). I later discovered (almost a year later), that Magna was offering a couple of relatively inexpensive mod's to the same (new) unit, if ordered, before shipping. Some CAP change-outs and SILVER wire replacements, etc. The new Magna (hot-rodded) unit arrived. It was a wonderful (esoteric) improvement! Regardless of price (and, with this Magna-mod), I believe you will have one of the finest sounding DAC's around (Of course, using the all-important, I2S INPUT protocol.)

I've been yearning for a Holo Audio May Dac ever since it came out. Its price is a little hard for me to justify though, despite having been in love with R2R DACs for at least the past ten years and having been served very well by my Audio-gd R7 DAC for the past four. Sometime later, the Cyan 2 was released and I sat on my hands, confident that my R7 was better and that getting a Cyan 2 would at worst be a downgrade and at best be a sidegrade. Here I am, curiousity finally having gotten the better of myself and trigger pulled to find out.

And my first listening impressions tell me that it's an upgrade. At half the price of the Audio-gd R7, to boot. (Granted, it's not an apples to apples comparison due to the actual NOS operation of the Cyan 2 vs the simulated NOS mode of the R7.) Both have that organic and analog sounding trait of great R2R DACs, both render details exceptionally well despite operating in NOS, both present a wide soundstage where instruments are easily placed/pointed at and both exhibit high clarity and transparency. (Some care went into my PC USB setup - eg, dedicated PC for Tidal streaming, a Matrix Audio USB Card and external USB PSU, up-to-spec Supra USB cable, etc, etc).

What sets the Cyan 2 apart is the sense of palpable presence; that I'm no longer listening to a recording and that the singer actually exists between my two speakers (a pair of Purifi-6R standmounts powered by an Audio-gd Master 9 preamp and A1 power amp). Its soundstage is also deeper, with a better defined sense of instruments positioned to the front, middle or back of the soundstage. There's also a sense of higher clarity and what must be a better reproduction of timing.

Having lived with my R7 for so long, the improvements brought by the Cyan 2 were immediately apparent. The hype was right, the Cyan 2 is the real deal. Maybe I'll sell all the other DACs in my possession and put the money towards a May DAC. In the meantime, I will be thoroughly enjoying the Cyan 2.

This DAC was a big step up from my streamer/dac Marantz ND8006 and boy you can really tell. Just a few hours in and it sounded great. I replaced the fuse with the SR purple fuse from Magna hifi and the impact on sound was unmistakable. Mind you it still hasn’t burned in yet. Just got about 50 hours or so. I cant wait to hear it fully burned in. Fantastic piece. I auditioned a Chord qutest before and the Spring 3 KTE R2R dac (in my set up at least) sounds way better. Glad I got it. Jos and Rob were both very helpful and patient with my questions:).
