How can I update the Amanero Combo384 USB firmware?

In some situations (e.g. Playback native DSD512 on Linux) it is required to change/update the firmware of the Amanero USB interface. Updating the firmware requires a Windows based PC. Please check the firmware version history from Amanero website for the appropriate version.

1) Download the update_tools and Unzip in a folder, for example on your Windows Desktop.

2) ERASE THE FLASH*. Important – let Windows fully recognize the fact that device has disappeared! Takes about 10-15 seconds normally.

*Note: The device must be switched on to erase the Amanero USB card.

Some devices need to be opened to erase the Amanero and some devices have a little button on the back of the unit (Often near the UPDATE port). Use a paper-clip or anything if you can’t reach the erase button.
