RIAA MM/MC PHONO PREAMPLIFIER

The Audio-GD LP-1 MM/MC is a high-performance RIAA phono preamplifier, compatible with MM or MC cartridge turntables, which offers a careful design that corrects the defects common to many preamplifiers of this type. Here, a low-pass filter (75uS) at the input allows a more linear response between 1kHz and 20kHz.

All of the LP-1 MM’s circuitry is designed to provide smooth and accurate sound reproduction. This includes a regenerative power supply, itself composed of 4 Class A PSUs, ACSS circuitry, and quality components such as the 2SK170 FETs in input and output buffers.

RIAA PHONO MM /MC PREAMP

MC phono preamps have higher gain than MM phono preamps because of the low signal level of MC cartridges compared to MM cartridges. MC phono preamps usually have a lower noise floor and better noise characteristics than MM phono preamps because of the low signal level of MC cartridges compared to MM cartridges.

The upon diagram show the different instruments frequency band . For example, if playing piano music recorder, cause by the larger different distortion on the frequency band, you can hear the low frequency band like playing a brand A piano, the middle frequency band like playing a brand B piano, and the high frequency brand like a brand C, the music recorder like the different brand pianos playing together.

Regenerative power supply

The regenerative power supply can block most disturbances from the power line to provide a clean and stable signal to the audio circuits. For this purpose, the LP-1 MM circuitry uses regenerative transformers, Class A power supplies, a wave generator and gain amplifiers. In addition, each audio circuit has its own power supply.

Good device, what you may expect from Audio-GD
Only point that could be even better is the S/N ratio.
But it’s much better than I ever got it.

LP1 phono preamp sounds fantastic…. the sound is very much defined and spatialized (more than with the Moon I had before), bass are more present as well and I’m very happy I bought it.
Audio GD is definitively a great brand…
