Of all the upgrades and tweaks tried on my audio streaming system, connecting my Roon endpoint (SOtM sMS-200ultra NEO) to an external (OCXO) master clock turned out to be the most valuable and rewarding to my ears!
Originally my SOtM came without this option; in the country I am based (Norway) no one offered the upgrade, so after a quick research, Magna HiFi came to my attention as the nearest provider of the upgrade. Contacting them through their online enquiry form was definitely formal, yet brief and straightforward. Shortly after that, a personalized response popped up in my mailbox and the next day I sent my equipment to the provided address in the Netherlands. Couple of days later, I was briefed that the job has been done and that the equipment was on its way back to Norway…
Here, a little saga developed with a shipment carrier (UPS) completely incapable to process and deliver my package for quite a while – during which time it happened that I spoke multiple times with different people from UPS as well as with Jos from Magna Hifi. Jos really engaged himself with the case and although the delivery mess was solely caused by UPS, he eventually retrieved my equipment and re-sent it with another carrier – all on his own expense!
Now, after receiving back my upgraded audio streamer, listening to it for a couple of months, and summarizing the entire process, I can tell that the job has been done expertly and the service I received from Magna Hifi was delivered with lots of attention and personal involvement.
