Sound is quite good right our of the box.
The fit and finish is overall excellent.
Only the RCA Output sockets are tight fit.
The connection finally worked and the R1 NOS DAC makes already nice sounding music. It will be interesting to experience how things develop during burn in...

This is a good amp for the price. Can easily compete with amps up to at least 1000 euros. Sound is more engaging and enjoyable than the good, but more sterile Topping family competitors. Thing I noticed is that the front switch doesn't really turn it off (it still keeps drawing about 3 watts), with the back switch it turns really off. Also this on/pre/pha switch can cause serious DC offset peaks, at least on the XLR-outs, which can be a serious issue with certain power amps driving speakers (Singxer needs to be turned on first and turned off last to prevent issues). Not sure if this is only my unit (btw I didn't put jumpers on the power supply protection circuit).

Today we compared this DAC with the Weiss 204 (which has a dedicated DYI power supply) and the Meitner Audio MA-3 and the results Spring Level 2 is a great DAC perfectly balanced between stage width, holography, beautiful natural vocals and holy impressive dynamics!

The Red has landed safe and sound. I've plugged it in via ethernet in/USB out, and have been a bit shocked by the results. I'm running into the May/Bliss KTE combo into Susvaras, Atriums, Verites and Calderas. On each pair I've been blown away with how much of a difference the Red has made. Coming from a Zen Stream powered by a Hypsos with high end power management, I was expecting a relatively minor but noticeable improvement, but... wow! I think it's really the blackness of the background that has changed significantly, everything is instantly more dynamic, vivid and textured.

High resolving DAC for the fraction of the price! This DAC preforms almost like an true endgame DAC. The body of the sound this dac makes is verry rich in detail and accurate. Spacial presentation is really good and if you use DSD the soundstage becomes even bigger and you get even more detail retrieval! You won't be needing any replacement for the coming years if you buy this DAC. Oversampling is really good on this DAC.

Its also compatible with ASIO driver from holoaudio. Im verry impressed with th sound of the DAC.

Using the Matrix Audio Element S via USB out in a Singxer SU 2 and from there via I2S to a HoloAudio Spring 2. First of all: Compatibility is outstanding!
And regarding sound quality from my pov a dream team - highly recommended! The Singxer clarifies a bit, it is a subtle nuance in timing, but it improves maybe from 98% to 100%. I switched several times fore and back but at the end I decided in favour with the Singxer SU 2 („magnified“).
Interestingly, recordings with rain, sounds like rain with the Element S, with the Singxer my brain got immediately triggered „it‘s raining“.

I bought 2 Grimm interlinks and was well advised about alternatives in terms of sound color. The Grimm TPR series is really a top product for a great price! Highly recommended. I bought an XLR and AES/EBU cable. Very nice between my Mytek brooklyn+ and the Amp!!

The Holo Spring combined with the Holo Bliss, takes me to previously unknown territory!
The music flows naturally as I remember my records and it really moves you and the amp sings, it's like a musical instrument, it really plays.

There is something fluid, dissolving, calm and very gentle, but also fast and very powerful when necessary.

There is so much good to read about the HoloAudio May Dac KTE in reviews. I was a bit sceptical, but my high expectations weren't too high.
Listening to the May, the music is full and present in the room. It is a pleasure to enjoy the richness of sound.
Advice: reserve time for other activities, the attraction of May leads to the rediscovery of your music collection. ;-) May is here to stay!

This Bliss still needs to warm up for a while but already it's an amp that sings! The music flows as naturally as I remember 33T records and it really transports you!

The choice between LO-Z and Hi-Z allows you to really have a different color of sound, and this is a great comfort.

Great purchase and top service! I will definitely come back for a dac.

It's been working for 5 hours already and it's already a great experience. Whether with the Meze Elite headphones (fantastic and by far the best headphones I own) but also the Focal Stellia (which I have to wear at night to avoid not bother)... And yet the stellia is a difficult, even brutal, headphone, but it sounds much better with Holo Bliss.

I am quite new to the world of high end audio, but the integrated DAC/Preamp/Headphone units from Audio Gd caught my attention just over a year ago and seemed to be the at-home headphone solution I needed.

After liaising with Jos about which model to get, I decided to go for the R27 mk2 with the silver wiring upgrade, and the high gain option to give me more flexibility for different headphones. The guidance initially given proved very useful and I can honestly say the unit has exceeded my expectations and I expect It will stay with me for sometime as I build a system around it. I have just three headphones currently but all have paired well with the unit (using a laptop as a source via the USB input). Firstly, the Hifiman He6se - a headphone known to be difficult to power - sounds great on it, and with the high gain modification I typically have the volume at 30-35/99 most of the time, so still plenty of headroom. The sennheiser HD600 stays in the low gain area, around 40-50/99, and the Beyerdynamic T5 3rd generation lower than this at 20-25/99. All three sound great, and even the Beyerdynamic - a headphone that usually doesn't need an amplifier - sounds much better than on my portable sources.

Furthermore, I have even tried iems (!!??) on this out of the single ended input. Now, for some you don't get a lot of range on the volume, but there was no audible hiss from the Letshuoer S12, 7hz Timeless, Fiio FHE Eclipse (Crinacle colaboration) and the Fiio EM5. All four sounded great, especially the two planar iems that seemed to like the power on offer!

My one suggestion for Audio Gd I think... would be to have a third gain option, so Low, medium and high. This way a user could easily use a range of iems with the unit too, although I think even in the low gain option you still have some flexibility based on my experience.

I am now looking for partnering gear and I am looking forward to the journey! But best of all has been the great customer service shown by Rob and Jos. Buying a piece of high end gear such as this is a big investment and can be daunting for the uninitiated like myself, but Rob and Jos have been great at providing after service support and answering any questions I have.

I can heartily recommend the Audio Gd R27 Mk2 with the silver wiring and high gain options, and can definitely recommend Magna Hifi as a go to place for audio equipment.
